Honeycomb is delighted to be partnering with a leading steel distributor and manufacturing company in Galway for an Operations Coordinator to join their ever-growing team.
The Client
The client is one of Galway's leading steel distribution and manufacturing companies with a history of commitment to excellence and innovation. They source and distribute premium standard and specialised steels to all industry sectors across island of Ireland and UK.
The Role
The Operations Coordinator will report to the Head of Administration, supporting the Production Manager and the Operations team, ensuring the smooth running of the production function as well as the wider sales function.
The Responsibilities
- Assist with the manual inputting and digitised importation of steel reinforcement schedules into our manufacturing software programme 'aSa'
- Plan, maintain and communicate orders for production on a daily basis
- Work closely with Production Manager, Supply Chain Manager and Logistics Manager to ensure customer order priorities and delivery dates are met
- Liaise with customers and engineers on site, to resolve any queries in relation to customer schedules
- Record all inbound deliveries from ports as well as printing labels from our 'aSa' software system
- Supporting the sales function with the inputting of sales orders and processing of sales invoices, as well as pipeline reporting
- Provide cover for Logistics and Supply Chain Departments, as required to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained
- Bring a mindset of continuous improvement to all aspects of the job, identifying and implementing process improvements and leading ad hoc projects.
- Become the superuser for aSa, to ensure the manufacturing software programme is fully aligned to the company ERP (Microsoft Navision)
- Ability to work with colleagues cross-functionally as required.
- Other Ad-hoc tasks and projects may be required from time to time.
The Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of other transaction/ planning systems preferred.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role.
