Honeycomb is delighted to be partnering with a growing family-run Transport and Logistics company to recruit for a Transport Planner to join their busy team at their new site in Ashbourne, Meath. This role is full time, permanent and is a chance for someone to upskill and grow their career.
The Client
The client is a family-run business which caters for both national and international transport. They have been in operation since the 1980's and are continuing to grow at rapid speed due to being trusted throughout Europe for their specialised and dedicated transportation service.
The Role
- Plan relevant transport and manage linehauls for Ireland/UK and European operations
- Planning and scheduling daily orders for drivers and their routes ensuring that delivery requests are met for all customers
- Organise customs clearance paperwork and commodity codes
- Communicating with warehouse to ensure orders are dispatched on time
- Monitor all routes, ensuring they are running on time and escalating any issues immediately to management
- Liaise and communicate with customers and quickly identify issues that may affect the agreed delivery time and provide solutions were possible
- Maintain files and records and provide quick accurate information when required
- Work to a high standard and take responsibility for delivering all expected task
- Show initiative, act with confidence, and show ability to work under own direction
- Ensure good relations and communications with all members of the company and provide excellent customer care in an efficient manner
- Continue to identify ways in which further improvements to performance and service delivery can be made to our customers
The Person
- Experience in Transport planning
- Knowledge of driver hours/tachos regulations.
- Knowledge of transport legislation
- Problem solving ability and attention to detail essential
- Flexible attitude to working hours to support the needs of the business
- Good literacy and numeracy skills with knowledge of MS Office Suites
The Package
- Competitive Salary dependent on experience
- 8am-5pm Monday to Friday
- 20 days annual leave
