Honeycomb is delighted to be partnering with one of Ireland's largest transport and logistics companies to recruit for a Transport Planner for their HQ in Monaghan.

Established in the 1980's, the client has grown from humble beginnings to being one of Ireland's largest transport companies providing a range of logistic solutions for the pharma, food and energy industries. With a focus on flexibility and customer care, they provide services like Temperature-Controlled Distribution, Bulk Tankers, and Curtain-sided trailers across Ireland, U.K, and Europe.
The Role
The Transport Planner will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as transportation planning, operations management, communication, transport modelling, and transportation management. This role is night-shift based, shift pattern is 4 nights per week Thursday, Friday Saturday, Sunday starting at 7pm -7am.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the route planning including adding new delivery and collection points, as well as reviewing the routes for driver hours, efficiency, and the appropriateness of the vehicle used.
- Management of all transport personnel to include onboarding of drivers, and ensuring they are fully trained and set up to meet required standard for the load.
- Planning resources in terms of trucks and personnel to meet demand.
- Actively involved in evaluating routes and truck efficiency, whilst remaining hands on and able to oversee relevant compliance in keeping with legislation.
- Managing shipping bookings as well as the correct legislative documents.
The Requirements
- Transportation Planning and Transportation Management skills
- Highly organised, adaptable, flexible, conscientious, mature and self-confident individual of integrity with a calm but focused personality and ability to work under pressure.
- Effective Communication skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools including Microsoft Windows
- Experience in the logistics or transportation industry dealing with European, UK and Ireland.
