Our client is a well-established, values-led organisation operating within the not-for-profit sector.

The Role

The Business Support Officer will assist the Business Support Lead in delivering the organisation's strategic objectives through the provision of high-quality, flexible business support services across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process sales invoices and membership income

  • Provide ad hoc administrative support to the Financial Controller

  • Provide professional HR administrative support

  • Coordinate membership and training services

  • Provide administrative support for all training activities

  • Liaise with external IT contractors to ensure effective IT support

  • Support compliance with IT policies and data protection requirements

  • Liaise with landlords and suppliers to resolve maintenance issues

  • Coordinate mandatory training (e.g., first aid, fire warden, health & safety)

  • Support health & safety compliance across the organisation

  • Provide professional reception and front-of-house services

  • Assist senior managers with corporate administrative tasks

  • Organise meetings, room bookings, and refreshments

The Person

Essential Criteria

  • GCSE English and Mathematics (Grade C or above or equivalent) plus at least 2 years' experience in a business support role
    OR experience in a business support role

  • Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and work on own initiative

  • Knowledge and practical experience in one or more business support areas: finance, HR, IT, training, facilities or administration

  • Competency in business software packages and ability to provide ICT support

  • Excellent communication skills and strong customer service focus

  • High levels of initiative, judgement, and problem-solving ability
