Honeycomb are delighted to be working with Ards Community Hospital to recruit a Temporary Medical Secretary. This role offers an immediate start until the end of March, with a possibility for extension. The hourly rate is £12.75.

The Role

This is a temporary Medical Secretary position, working alongside three other Secretaries and Clerical Officers within a fast-paced outpatient clinic. The role is varied and hands-on, requiring strong organisational skills and flexibility. Responsibilities will include appointment management, audio typing, minute-taking via Microsoft Teams, and providing reception cover as required.

Key duties include:

  • Managing clinic diaries and scheduling appointments
  • Audio typing and transcription of medical documentation
  • Minute-taking for meetings held via Microsoft Teams
  • Providing reception cover and general administrative support
  • Working collaboratively with Secretarial and Clerical colleagues

The Person

The successful candidate will bring proven secretarial experience, excellent organisational ability, and a positive, team-focused approach.

Essential:

  • Proven secretarial experience.
  • Ability to schedule appointments and manage clinic operations.
  • Competence in audio typing and minute-taking.
  • Up-to-date Access NI check or willingness to obtain one.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Encompass systems (training provided).
  • Strong teamwork ethics and adaptability.
