Honeycomb is delighted to partner with an established Insurance Brokerage to recruit for a Commercial Lines Agent. This role would suit someone who'd like to join a long established business, and who wants to get rewarded for a job well done. Must have demonstrable experience working within the Commercial insurance sales industry.

The Client
Our client is a long standing insurance brokerage who, for over 50 years, has been delivering specialist insurance products to customers throughout Northern Ireland and ROI, and established themselves as a trusted broker. With over 400 members of staff and 16 local branches, they are in a unique position to be able to offer a comprehensive range of both Personal and Business insurance, making them a one stop shop, and putting the customer at the heart of everything they do.

The Role
The role of the Commercial Lines Agent will sit within the SME team, and you will provide professional, knowledgeable advice to clients in respect of quotations, adjustments, renewals and claims for all classes of their small and medium sized businesses.

Typical duties will include:

  • Placing all types of SME commercial risks within the market
  • Identifying opportunities for existing policyholders to benefit from additional covers
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with clients and insurers
  • Supporting the team in managing Commercial client accounts
  • Making sure clients' Commercial needs are met
  • Preparing presentations for new and existing clients
  • Providing prompt, expert advice to clients
  • Identifying new Commercial prospects
  • Maximising sales opportunities and achieving monthly/annual targets
  • Renewing policies, processing mid-term adjustments, and assisting clients with claims
  • Ensuring client cases are completed promptly, accurately, and fully
  • Adhering to FCA regulations and requirements

Essential Criteria

  • 5 GCSE's, grades C or above (including Maths & English), or equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience working within the Commercial insurance sales industry
  • Computer literate, with a knowledge of computerised insurance systems
  • Good planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Good team player
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
  • Effective communicator and listener

Desirable Criteria

  • CII qualification, or relevant insurance qualification
  • Sales qualification
  • Working knowledge of Open GI
