Honeycomb Jobs is delighted to assist our third sector client to recruit a Programme Coordinator to deliver an annual conference and smaller or regional workshops based in Belfast.
The Client - This highly credible multisite non-profit organisation supports science and technology innovation in Northern Ireland among other purposes throughout a range of funding and work-streams. They use the profits generated to support various programmes, facilitate funding, inform policy and accelerate technology-based research and development, by linking with academia and government. Centred on bringing together people with ideas and ambition to create start-ups that could change the world.
The Role - Is a full time fixed term contract ending in April 2028 with a salary up to £29,000 based in the office in Belfast reporting to a Programme Manager. This role is part of a wider programme that aims to foster cross community and cross-border collaborations.
Duties will include but will not be limited to:
- Support in the organisation and delivery of an engaging, meaningful, and innovative programme that will promote dialogue and positive exchanges between young people on a cross border and cross community basis.
- Facilitate high energy upskill young people in the development of an entrepreneurial mindset and innovative thinking, develop key relationships and inspire young people with the opportunities available to them.
- Develop engaging workshops, exercises, and resources to support young people in climate change, peacebuilding, innovation and entrepreneurship.
- To maintain a strong working relationship with companies within the organisation's community including tenant companies and partners, and with stakeholders within the education sector such as teachers, school principals, Education Authority representatives and others.
- Ensure feedback and impact data is collated and presented in a timely manner to appropriate audiences.
- To prepare, attend and deliver visually appealing keynote presentations to a range of audiences as required.
- Work with the finance team to successfully procure suppliers following funder guidelines.
- Ensure data protection and safeguarding processes are up to date and stringently adhered to.
- Liaise with companies who are involved in the wider programme
- Work closely with the Marketing and Brand team to support the promotion of the wider programme.
- Undertaking any other reasonable duties which fall within the remit of this role.
Essential Criteria
- Two years' experience working within a similar role
- Proven experience of organising successful events and/or programmes for young people (14- to 18-year-olds), including creative design and delivery
- Working knowledge and experience using the Design Thinking methodology
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- Strong public speaking skills and ability to present to large audiences
- Experience of working with and motivating young people
- Have an entrepreneurial mindset
- Ability to organise and plan work to achieve performance targets and deliver to strict deadlines
- A proven team player
- Passionate about inspiring young people to innovate
Other Requirements
- Full current driving license and access to own transport
- Proof of right to work in the UK
- On occasions to work evenings, weekends or residentials for events
- Basic Access NI check
