Honeycomb is delighted to be working with a large public sector organisation to recruit a temporary Administrator. Based in Ballymena, this is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation. The position is part-time (29.6 hours per week), Monday to Friday, and temporary until the end of March 2027.
The Company
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established public sector organisation, offering part-time hours (29.6 hours per week), Monday to Friday.
The Role
As an Administrator, you will provide day-to-day administrative support across a number of departments, including Public Protection, Health & Wellbeing and Environmental Health. This is a varied, fast-paced position that requires someone who is customer-focused, proactive, organised and confident when dealing with a range of people.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to a variety of teams, including Environmental Health, Animal Welfare, Health and Wellbeing, and Emergency Planning.
- Deal with enquiries by phone and email from members of the public, businesses and other organisations.
- Keep records and databases up to date, including updating case information, recording enquiries and preparing reports and updates.
- Maintain confidential files and information, including investigation records and typing up audio recordings.
- Help organise and support meetings, including arranging meetings with different organisations, taking notes and keeping track of agreed actions.
- Support staff with reports, returns and registers, and help maintain effective administrative systems.
- Deal with payments and basic financial tasks, including taking cash, cheque and card payments, managing petty cash and recording spending.
- Support purchasing and stock control, including purchase orders, quotations and inventory checks.
The Person
The successful candidate will have a strong background in customer service and administration, with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will be available for an immediate start and meet the following essential criteria:
Essential Criteria
- 5 GCSEs, including English Language and Maths (Grade C or above), or equivalent qualifications.
- A minimum of 1 year's administrative experience in an office environment.
- The ability to use computerised systems effectively.
- Experience working as part of a team to deliver excellent customer service to members of the public or external organisations.
- The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and deal efficiently with large volumes of work.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
