Honeycomb are delighted to be working with a large public sector organisation to recruit a temporary Secretary. This role will be based in Bangor and is temporary for 6 weeks, with the potential for extension. The right person for this role will have extensive minute-taking experience and be available for an immediate start.
Position: Secretary (Minute-taker)
Location: Bangor
Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00am- 5:00pm (occasional evening work will be required if meetings are scheduled for outside of working hours)
Pay Rate: £17.41 per hour
Contract: Temporary for 6 weeks initially, with the potential for extension
The Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare meeting agendas and coordinate reports
- Organise and attend meetings, as well as follow up on actions arising from meetings
- Record, draft and finalise formal minutes and publish these for public records
- Draft formal correspondence
- Provide comprehensive secretary support, including correspondence management and financial administration
- Arrange official visits, and attend events as required
- Assist in the organisation and delivery of events
- Provide information and administrative support, including arranging attendance at training courses and conferences
- Undertake general administrative duties including report preparation, filing and records management
The Person
Essential Criteria:
- A minimum of two years of relevant administration or secretarial experience, to include extensive minute-taking in a formal setting
- Experience using Microsoft Office and other software packages
- Experience in taking and drafting formal minutes for senior executives, committees or management boards
Desirable experience:
- At least one year's experience providing administrative support within a political or public sector environment.
- Experience of working with senior executives, board members or elected representatives and handling confidential matters.
- Experience of organising or managing hybrid meetings
