Grants Assessor

The Company:

Honeycomb is delighted to be working with an established organisation that provides funding and support to local community initiatives and capital projects across Northern Ireland.

The organisation plays an important role in supporting projects that deliver positive outcomes for local communities, helping organisations access funding to develop facilities, services and community-led initiatives.

We are currently recruiting for a Grants Assessor to join the team on a temporary basis for an initial 3-month period.

The Role:

As Grants Assessor, you will be responsible for assessing grant applications and supporting documentation, ensuring applications meet the relevant eligibility criteria and funding requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assessing grant applications against agreed eligibility and assessment criteria

• Reviewing supporting documentation and financial information provided by applicants

• Checking applications for accuracy, completeness and compliance with funding requirements

• Identifying any missing information or areas requiring further clarification

• Liaising with applicants where additional information is required

• Making clear and evidence-based recommendations in relation to applications

• Maintaining accurate records of assessments and decisions

• Updating internal databases and systems with application information

• Supporting the wider grants team with the processing and administration of applications

• Preparing reports and information as required

• Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within agreed timescales

• Working in line with organisational policies, procedures and data protection requirements

The Person:

Essential:

• Previous experience in an administrative, assessment, compliance, funding or similar role

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to assess information accurately

• Experience reviewing information against set criteria or guidelines

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel

• Ability to analyse information and reach clear, evidence-based conclusions

• Ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential information

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

• Previous experience assessing grant or funding applications

• Experience working within the charity, community, public or voluntary sector

• Knowledge of community funding or capital funding programmes

• Experience working with financial information or project budgets
