The Role

* Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the legal team
* Preparing and typing correspondence, documentation, and reports
* Opening, maintaining, and updating client files and internal systems
* Preparing documentation for meetings and appointments
* Liaising professionally with clients, solicitors, barristers, courts, and other relevant parties
* Handling incoming telephone calls and correspondence professionally and confidentially
* Managing diaries, appointments, meetings, and deadlines
* Assisting with the preparation and organisation of files and documentation
* Monitoring deadlines and ensuring paperwork is prepared within required timescales
* Providing general administrative and secretarial support to the wider team
* Maintaining confidentiality when dealing with sensitive client information
* Assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the office
* Supporting solicitors and colleagues with general administrative requirements
* Building knowledge of legal processes and procedures through on-the-job training

The Person

* Previous experience in a strong administrative, secretarial, or office-based role is essential
* Previous legal experience is not required
* Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong typing and document preparation skills
* Ability to manage a busy workload and competing priorities
* Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
* Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
* Confident communicating with clients and external contacts
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems
* A willingness to learn and develop within a new sector
* Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a wider team
* Professional, reliable, and proactive approach
* Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
* Ability to prioritise work effectively and consistently meet deadlines
