This a charity who have been supporting young people and adults with learning disabilities to find and sustain employment throughout Northern Ireland for over 30 years!

Your Role:

As an Employment Officer you will be supporting individuals to develop their personal and employability skills, to secure and sustain paid or voluntary work, assisting in progressing them towards their goals!

  • Responsible for individual case load of service users to support
  • Working as part of the team to deliver the service, supporting the Area Operations Manager and Service Managers through demonstrating best practice
  • Supporting service users to achieve their goals, exploring and accessing employment and personal development opportunities for further training
  • Ensuring the service user's needs and aspirations are met, enabling them to progress towards and sustain paid work
  • Adhering to compliance regulations, ensuring the individuals being supported feel safe and confident in the service
  • Correctly identifying needs of the service user, developing a support plan, implementing and reviewing within timeframes
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, acting as an ambassador for the organisation through positive representation
  • Proactively working with employers and others to raise awareness of the contribution of people with learning disabilities within the workforce, creating and seizing opportunities for training

Person Specification

  • Experience supporting individuals to develop new and existing skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, including ICT
  • Ability to work independently, using own initiative
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Awareness of issues facing individuals with learning difficulties
  • Maintaining confidentiality, understanding of GDPR
  • Ability to work flexibly in accordance with the needs of the role
  • Full clean driving licence for travel purposes within the post
