Honeycomb are thrilled to be partnering exclusively with a charitable organisation based in Belfast, in the recruitment of a part time (14 hours) Fundraising & Development Officer at £27,800 - £28,700 pro rata. This is a 2 year fixed term contract with the possibility of extension.

The Charity:

This is a charity that focuses on making a difference to the welfare of children and young people in Northern Ireland! They achieve this by informing and influencing those who make policies, plans and deliver services, representing the voices of the young people and sharing their experiences and views.

Your Role:

This is an exciting role for this charity, you will be given the opportunity to bring your knowledge and skills to this team, contributing to the success and growth of the organisation! Some main responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with the Finance Manager to evaluate the long-term funding requirements and sustainability of the organisation
  • Gain a full understanding of all areas of the organisation's work to identify and develop new opportunities
  • Supporting the CEO and Board in the development and implementation of income generation and growth strategies
  • Identifying and developing significant additional sources of funding to support the work, development and sustainability of the organisation
  • Research and identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways to reach existing markets
  • Preparing, drafting and submitting funding applications/bids/proposals
  • Agree on fundraising targets and timeframes with senior management team, creating annual development and delivery plans
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Completion of monitoring reports to funders as required
  • Build and maintain close links with other departments and staff to identify funding needs/opportunities.

Person Specification

  • 2 Years experience in a similar role, securing and generating funds
  • Minimum 3 years in an administrative role within an office environment
  • Good working knowledge of procurement/tendering
  • Essential to have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • GCSE Maths & English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, excellent IT skills, experience using office systems and social media platforms
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and prioritise work under deadlines and time pressures
  • Maintaining GDPR and confidentiality
