What would a typical day look like for you? This is the perfect role for someone who is looking to plant themselves within a busy charitable organisation, who can bring their enthusiasm and energy to the workplace, using their initiative to complete tasks and striving to be proactive while gaining direct experience in a Grants Officer role. Some duties include:
  • Responsible for a portfolio of grants and their budgets in line with established processes
  • Receipt, acknowledgement and tracking of grants applications
  • Reviewing and evaluating grant applications for compliance and eligibility, providing constructive advice and feedback
  • Supporting grant holders in the management of their activities and funding, tracking and flagging concerns to the Operations Manager
  • Respond to funding, grant application and beneficiary enquiries
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, assisting in the distribution of funding to grantees, ensuring required monitoring is completed
  • Ensure website is kept updates with information relevant to the grants programmes
  • Represent the organisation at meetings If requires, providing secretarial support
  • Preparing status reports for the Senior Management Team
  • Maintain financial records, reporting on the financial performance of the grants programmes
Person Specification
  • Minimum 1 years' experience managing grant funding
  • Ability to interpret and apply guidelines, critique document and provide constructive feedback
  • Experience of budget management
  • Excellent customer service skills, ability to provide clear, accurate advice
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, proven ability to organise and prioritise work
  • Experience completing tasks within tight timeframes, maintain strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in using IT systems, knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office packages
  • Hold a full driving licence
