Honeycomb is delighted to be assisting our client in the recruitment of a skilled and organised individual to join their legal team as a Matrimonial Legal Secretary in their Ballymena offices. They are open to full time and part time candidates for this role. This is a permanent opportunity.

The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to solicitors specialising in matrimonial law, assisting with case management, client communication, and document preparation. This role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Key responsibilities: -

  • Assist solicitors in all aspects of matrimonial case management, including drafting and filing legal documents, organising case files, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Schedule client meetings, court appearances, and other appointments, coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as needed.
  • Communicate with clients professionally and compassionately, providing updates on case progress and addressing inquiries or concerns.
  • Prepare and proofread legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and financial disclosures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court rules.
  • Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Assist solicitors in preparing for hearings, trials, and negotiations, coordinating logistics and providing administrative support as needed.
  • Manage administrative tasks including answering phones, responding to emails, and processing mail.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information and adhere to ethical and professional standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the firm.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a legal secretary, preferably in matrimonial law or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures, particularly related to matrimonial law.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
