Honeycomb is partnering with our public sector client to recruit for a Grade 'Staff Officer Information Governance personnel'. This is a direct 6month fixed term contract with likely extension. Hybrid with free parking; S.Belfast.

The Client - This large service led multi-site public sector organisation operates with an extensive and diverse range of record management and governance in order to fulfil its' distinctive functionality. As an arms' length body to the NICS, this client has proven to provide attractive contracts and further opportunities for successful applicants.

The Grade 'Staff Officer' package contract includes: 25 + 12 statutory holidays per annum; free parking & incremental review of banding scales. A further benefit to a contract role with this organisation will be the exposure to further opportunities that may arise.

The Role - Throughout the Governance Dept, this organisation has recently completed the process of onboarding to RecordsNI and Content Manager.

The information governance and records management officer (Staff Officer grade) will support compliance with information legislation including FOIA and have oversight of important Content Manager functions including resolving issues that cannot be tackled by power users. In particular the role:

  • supports the information governance & records manager in the development and review of information governance policies and procedures.
  • supports file-plan management (overseeing the creation and maintenance of all levels of the Content Manager fileplan and applying retention and disposal schedules);
  • creates and maintains of reports for management.
  • provides helpdesk support for queries which cannot be resolved by power users.

The Person - Throughout these posts, a successful candidate is expected to act as a key interface, ensuring that communications and information from internal and external contacts are disseminated, controlled and managed effectively.
The post-holder will be required to meet the following criterion prior to reaching the next stage of the campaign:

  • GCSE (Grade A-C)/GCE 'O' level English Language
  • Experience in a junior- or middle-management role with a significant records management or information governance element.

  • The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge of information access legislation including FOI, EIR and GDPR/DPA.

  • Highly competent with the main MS Office applications especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and will be familiar with an EDRMS (preferably MicroFocus Content Manager as used in the NICS).

  • Experience communicating confidently and persuasively with more senior colleagues, in person and in writing.

    Desirable Criteria

  • The successful candidate will be familiar with the online NICS information asset register.
