Honeycomb is delighted to assist our public sector client with the requirement for a 'Temporary Car Parks Manager'. 3 months+ contract with potential extension. Excellent salary/ hourly rate. Situated in Ballymena.

The Client - This client operates across a number of sites to which they uphold a high standard in terms of estates and parks management. With a distinctive range of stakeholders and clients looking to securely gain access; this organisation has a current requirement for a strongly and relevant experienced to join the respective department. The Role - To oversee the management of all organisation owned Off-Street car parks and ensure a customer focused and commercially centred sustainable approach is undertaken. The role requires responsibility for the resources under their control and co-ordinate, monitor and plan work programmes including associated development projects. Finally, the successful candidate will be tasked with engagement with key stakeholders to identify and implement community and commercial measures and project solutions.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for carrying out regular monthly inspections to ensure health and safety at all times
  • Liaise with the Finance function on a monthly basis to record and manage monthly income for each car park
  • To act as a point of contact between Transport NI, NSL and other contractors to ensure the efficient management of 'Off-Street' car parks; including attendance at the Regional Forum meetings
  • Be responsible for the implementation and updating of site business plans and to assist in the formulation of policies, reports and initiatives to support the development of the Parks & Open Spaces Service
  • Have oversight for the delivery of improvement projects that are customer focused and financially sustainable, including liaising with Transport NI in relation to the application of Change Notice Requests
  • Allocated budgets and ensure the service meets strict financial limits including income generation and franchisee management.
  • Act as a key holder and ensure that the administration of the service area is maintained and updated including ensuring that financial procedures are managed with appropriate probity.
  • In association with the Communications Department be responsible for the promotion and marketing of car parks at a local, regional and national level including creation and updating of websites, leaflets and interpretation panels.

The Person - the following criteria applies and so must be met prior to shortlisting for next stage of process:

  • Applicants must have a degree or post graduate qualification in a relevant property management or a business related discipline.

AND Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have two years' experience of:

  • working with a range of stakeholders
  • managing budgets and report writing
  • successful delivery of projects on time and within budget

OR - Alternatively, consideration may be given to candidates who do not possess the required educational qualification but can demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have four years' experience of:

  • working with a range of stakeholders
  • managing budgets and report writing
  • successful delivery of projects on time and within budget

Desirable

  • Experience in the use of mapping software, such as GIS would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Transport NI and Car Park Management.
  • Knowledge of Off Street Car Parking legislation.
